Kulin Bush Races - Event Information

The famous Kulin Bush Races has something for everyone. This 100% run community event caters for young and old and those young at heart!

2016 Entry and Camping Fees

Adults $40.00
Kids (13-17) $10.00
12 years & Under FREE
No Concessions, Photo ID required for 18+

Everyone aged 13 and above is required to wear a wrist band applied by the gate staff. This is proof that you have paid to enter the event.

Camping at the Bush Races Site: Camping is FREE on Saturday night 1 October 2016. The Kulin Bush Races site will open for camping on Wednesday 28 Sept 2016 with a camping fee of $30.00 per vehicle per night. Please note that camping fees are in addition to entry fees.

EFTPOS facilities are available at the track from 10.00 am on Saturday.

CASH ONLY Gate.


No BYO - No Dogs - No Concessions - Photo ID required for Bar entry.

It is reminded that the Kulin Bush Races is situated in a regional area and it is recommended you consider appropriate attire and first aid requirements for a bush setting.

2016 Kulin Bush Races Event Guide

Friday 30 September 2016

  • Local Markets - From 3.00pm - 7.00pm, enjoy or purchase locally handmade gifts, crafts and foodie treats. A range of stalls will be provided by locals who live and work in the Kulin region. 
  • Friday afternoon entertainment provided by local Lake Grace musician Hayden McGlinn.
  • Wine Bar open 3.00pm -11.00pm out at the race track with great food options available for dinner. Enjoy live entertainment into the evening with Lionel Morris.
  • Shearing demonstrations

Saturday 1 October 2016 (Main Event Day)

  • Gates open at 8:30 am
  • RAC Tin Elephant on display. Find out more 
  • 8-Race Program - First race at 12:15 pm. Race program will include the RAC Tin Elephant taking to the track! 
  • Indulge in great country food and local wine under the trackside marquee.
  • 2016 AFL Grand Final Broadcast Sponsored by Country Wide Insurance Brokers 
  • 11.00am Jaws of Life Demonstration supported by the RAC 
  • Enjoy the excitement of the gymkhana, competitive horse racing and then later test your skills at the two-up ring.
  • In between the horse races there is entertainment for the whole family. Get cosy with Old McDonalds Farm animals, see how high you can go at the climbing wall and trampolines or battle it out with Gladiator duels or just relax and take in the picturesque scenery on our Clydesdale Rides.
  • The Brookfeild Rail Kids Tent is a popular activity area for younger children - with a giant sandpit, face painting, easel painting and play dough. We provide plenty of straw bales so that parents and guardians can sit and watch their own children. Entry is FREE.
  • Test your skills in the Two-Up Ring 
  • When the sun goes down, fireworks light up the sky over Jilakin Lake.
  • Dance the night away under the stars to live entertainment by Envy and Slim Jim and the Phatts. 
  • EFTPOS facilities are available at the track from 10.00 am

Camping is available at the race track with no bookings required. Please note: Camping is FREE for Saturday night only (If you are arriving early, please note that there is a camping fee of $30.00 per vehicle per night). 

Sunday 2 October 2016

Join us on Sunday morning from 6am for the Great Aussie Revival Breakfast supported by RAC before you head home.
